Avatar Configuration window closes on click 2020.1.3f1
I'm trying to configure an avatar; If I click on any of the bones, it dumps me back out into Scene View.
I cannot configure the avatar since I cannot left click on anything in the avatar Inspector or in the Avatar Configuration scene.
Having the same issue in 2020.3.0f1.
Configure Avatar.
Click on any bone in the scene view or hierarchy or click any part of the inspector that lists the bones.
The Avatar Configuration window immediately closes.
Resetting the Layout to Default doesn't fix the issue.

@KingKRoecks Set the Layout to Default: Window-->Layouts-->Default. If you've overwritten the Default view, select Revert Factory Settings.
I'm afraid this was so long ago, I don't remember at all what model that was in reference to and have not thought about this issue in a long while. Thank you for the reply though. Cheers.
Sorry for the late reply. Did you solve it by now? If not, did you try "revert to factory settings" as well? I'm asking because I had this problem several times in different releases and it always worked. And this doesn't only apply to the Avatar Configuration Window, practically every time a Window in Unity has a strange behaviour(Closing instantly, not being able to click) simply reverting the layout works.
If not, next step you could try is to delete this file: Library/CurrentLayout.dwlt . This will remove all Layouts.

Very strange. I'm running into this issue on 2020.1.8f1.
On one project switching to default layout seems to fix it. On another project it does not.
This solution seems to work for me now: The problem seems to stem from having multiple Inspector windows in your layout. Changing the tabs so that only one Inspector tab is open (as is the case in default layout) may solve the problem sometimes. For me this generally didn't work. I needed to close the extra Inspector windows then close the project and restart for the Avatar Configuration tool to work properly again.
needed to close the extra Inspector...* Switching to the Default Layout should close every extra Inspector, this is what Revert Factory Settings is for. It should close every additional Window and overwrite the default Layout(not sure if you still need to save it).
