Why is Xcode telling me that I changed my splash screen?
Hi, Yet another problem that is stopping me from publishing my game. Please help!!!
I just updated Xcode to the latest version (4.3.1) and the latest of Unity (3.5.0f5). When I try to run my game on my iPhone or iPad to test it, Xcode gives me an error telling me that I have the basic version and I can't change the splash screen. Well, I didn't change the splash screen. It is exactly as it was when I tested it the other day with an older version of Xcode but same version of Unity. How can I get past the Splash Screen Warning... especially when I didn't change it? I have it set to iPhone only because if I had it on Universal, then it would show me the alert triangle with the exclamation point in it to state that I have the wrong splash screen for the retina display of the iPad. But I know I can't change it because I only have the basic version of Unity. How do I fix this?
I would really appreciate any help. Thanks so much. Tom
$$anonymous$$ine is doing the same thing. I upgraded os and iOS and Xcode and unity and now every project says You are using Unity iPhone Basic. You are not allowed to remove the Unity splash screen from your game.
let me know if you come up with a solution.
@trriley, I appreciate your input and I'm glad that I'm not the only person with this problem, however, I believe you meant to put your statement as a comment and not an answer to my question. I have submitted a bug report to Unity and they are aware of the problem now but they say that I'm the only one who had a problem with setting "Compress PNG" to YES with Apple... Another issue but it lead up to this. Unity said that they will notify me when they have a beta version of the fix available. I'll post it when I find out. $$anonymous$$
Has anyone resolved this issue? i'm having the same problem and getting nowhere.
Thanks
I'm having the same trouble. I thought it was the compress png files settings in xcode, but unchecking those does not help. I bet it is something the new version of xcode is doing to "help" us. I'm hoping one of the Unity experts can find out a way make it work.

Probably a bug from the Unity itself.
Absolutely right, @stevenp. In fact, I received an email from Unity stating that Unity 3.5.0f5 has the Splash Screen problem with Xcode 4.3.1 and they are aware of it and are currently working on a fix for that bug. As my wife said, "Unity finally 'fessed up!" The only problem is that now I have to wait for a bug fix before I can publish my game to Apple.

Same problem again with Unity iOS basic 4.01, XCode4.4(?), and iPad5.1. Hangs on Splash screen with "not allowed to change" message.
Fixed by upgrading to (currently newest) XCode 4.6.
I have Xcode 4.6 but I still have this problem. I'm running $$anonymous$$ountain Lion 10.8.2, Xcode 4.6. Latest iOS SD$$anonymous$$ Unity Basic 4.0.1f2 with iOS Basic plugin.
Only diff is OSX10.7.5 here, and can't think why that would matter. Otherwise same (using UnityFree 4.0.1f2.) Vanilla settings for XCode (but turned off dSY$$anonymous$$.)
I am having the same issue with 4.6.3 and the latest xcode also. So what do I do? :(
