Editor freezing up due to models. What can I do?
I exited game view, switched the inspector to wireframe view, that seemed to help, but it's still very lagging and freezing. It's not a hardware issue.
PC Windows 7 Home, AMD Radeon HD 6670 core, 2.7GHz pentium, 16GB DDR3RAM.
They are FBX models.
Would turning off split and turning up mesh compression in the FBX importer help?
I'm no expert on modelling but... DAYU$$anonymous$$ that seems a little high man.
Does it lag in player? Or just editor. Also having a city THAT LARGE, or anything that large is a bad idea for reasons you have just discovered. They are almost impossible to work with.
I suggest splitting the city up into many smaller chunks.
Yes, it is in smaller chunks, but It still makes the editor lag, because it's all still there. Havent tested the player yet, I'll report back later tonight. Have a good xmas (or whatever you celebrate)!
Oh thank christ for that, for a $$anonymous$$ute there I thought you were trying to load it in as one mesh.
