How to get a clean new URP project?
Hello.
Unity 2019.4.6f1. I want to start a new URP project and it may sound like a pleonasm but I want the new project to be blank, free from stuff I don't need, like 3d models, textures, materials, scripts, non-builtin assets etc.
I went through all folders but it's not clear what I can safely delete and what to keep in order to have a basic empty working URP project.
What I'm leaning to delete is:
TutorialInfo
Scripts/SimpleCameraController
Scenes/SampleScene
Presets/< audio stuff >
Pressets/UtilityTexture
Presets/Defaults/AudioDecompressOnLoad
ExampleAssets
Settings/SampleSceneProfile
Materials

If you want a clean URP project, you can keep only the sample scene profile which has the basic post processing already made. If you don't care about it (or will make it later by yourself) you can just delete everything, or create an empty project and then add URP through package manager.
Thanks. I'd pick
overcreate an empty project and then add URP through package manager
as it seems cleaner. So adding URP through package manager also sets everything up URP wise or will I have to do it (create the assets, assignments etc.)?delete everything
You will have to create the profile but it's not very complicated, you just have to create two assets. It will introduce you to the different parameters so even if you don't get what everyting does it might be interesting if you want to make a good use of URP. Then you will have to add the new pipeline in project settings -> graphics. I personnally prefer to start from scratch and then add it with other packages I need.
I don't have unity right now but the assets are in the big list of assests you can create in a submenu called URP something or idk. You need the URP assets and a rendered (forward or 2d depending on what you do).
Thanks Infenix. I found a tutorial on YT. TBH it's a bit frustrating. I'd have preferred I shouldn't perform all this gymnastics when it's so simple and of common sense to click start a clean URP project template without (and here I'm not saying "bloat" since they may be of help for some) other stuff.
I$$anonymous$$HO there should be a distinction between a generic blank "new project" and fully working specialized projects like tutorials, help for those at the start of the road that once you get it it becomes useless. Same with explanations for Start and Update functions ;)
Plus there already is the "3D and 3D with extras" pattern which is great. This so re$$anonymous$$ds me of SOLID.
Ok, I spoke enough :)
