2D Top Down Tilemap with Functioning Tiles Data Structure / System
I am making a tilemap system. The tilemap has 2D array that consists of each tile data. Some tile should have functions, for example, water tile should have a collider and should contain what kind of fish the player can get. Some objects like tree can only be placed on the grass tile.
What kind of data structure should I use for tile, objects(tree, house), entities(player, mobs)? How should I load the game objects for each tile, objects and entities when the map is loaded? Also please provide me any additional tips for making a 2d top down tilemap game...
