Smooth transitions between 2d animation
I'm pretty sure that having unity set up a smooth transition between 2d standing and walking animations. But, are there any tips on how to get it smoother between two 2d animations? Or, is it something we just have to live with?
The obvious one is adding more sprites, but I´m not an expert on 2D so I am not even sure.

I am not sure what tool you are using or if you are using unity 4.3 (still I am using an older version).
Smoothmoves is a 2D animation system and yes you don't add more sprites, you just do the same as you would with Unity's animation system.
For example I use SmoothMoves which uses unity's animation system and hence you can do like:
animation.CrossFade("WalkAnimation");
and it simply cross fades from the current playing to the new one.
