How to set a fixed timestep for Particle System?

Hello!

I'm creating a 3d arcade racing game and I'm creating the wheel smoke using Particle System, that velocity inherits from the car's rigidbody.

But there's a problem: The update of particle system seems to occour every rendered frame, using Time.deltaTime, but the rest of my game updates in Time.fixedDeltaTime, so the movement of the particles is choppy.

This happens because the simulation time of the particle system is not in sync with the physics Time step.

So I need to know if there's a way to change the ParticleSystem timestep so the movement remains in sync with the physics. What I've already tried:

  • Using ParticleSystem.Simulate;

  • Setting the ParticleSystem.time.

If someone knows a way to set a fixed time step to the ParticleSystem, I would be grateful.
