Textfield cursor in wrong position

I'm having an issue with my GUI.TextField where the cursor and highlight field appear below the text. As you can see here alt text

I googled around and found this issue tracker http://issuetracker.unity3d.com/issues/gui-dot-textfield-cursor-position-y-offset-is-wrong-if-font-size-is-changed

It says the issue is resolved but i've just updated to the last version of unity and the problem persists. How do i fix this?
