Is there any replacement for anisotropic friction?
I upgraded my project from Unity 4.6 to 2017.1.2 not too long ago and I just found out that I could no longer use a physics material to make the sides of an object frictionless, but still have normal friction on the top and bottom of the object.
All I was able to find about it so far is that PhysX no longer supports anisotropic friction (bonus points for anyone who can tell me why the hell they thought that was necessary, because I'm still more than a little pissed about it).
So is there any alternative method (or plugin or whatever) for making the vertical sides of something like a building or platform frictionless so the player can't stick to the walls, but also not slide around on top of the object?
