Can I do this?
How do I set the position of the text field?? I'm using GUITextField, but now I want to set the input keyboard like in the picture, not the default one.
But I'm getting much similar like this:
a box right above the keyboard
isnt that how it works?
i mean, the picture you've shown us how you want it to be cant really be done because you dont have the screenspace you need.

If you use GUI.TextField you can specify what RECT the object is within.
The screensize can be calculated with Screen.width/2 for center, then subtract half the width of your wanted textfield size.
If you also want the text to center, you can do this with a simple GUIstyle.
Check script reference on the words I have used or leave me a note and I will post the links later if needed. I just wanted to answer you quickly. :o)
I know how to use the RECT, I have the GUITextField Positioned in certain rect. What I want is whenever I tap on the field, a keyboard shows up, and a white text box appears in exchange to visualize the input. But somehow, the default only shows the field above the input keyboard. I'll add what I got in the question:)

okay, what platform? the first one looks like iPad/iOS, the second looks like Android?
iPad...the second one is only the sample what I get from my current code, in which the input text box is directly above the virtual keyboard :)
Update: I was able to hide the text preview(the input text box was called text preview in the manual reference), but only for some certain keyboard types.
what I want now is either to hide the text preview and replace it with another box/GUI.Label or to manipulate the position of the text preview...any answer regarding this will be very helpful to me. thanks
