Android Device Monitor Application Column Displays Question mark instead of package name
Good morning,
I am working on a Unity project that is mostly scripts at the moment (C#). I updated from Unity 2018.2.10f1 to 2019.1.0f2 a few weeks ago and have been working on getting my plugins to work with the new editor. I created a brand new project and brought in my old scripts and built everything up around them from scratch and using some prefabs. In order for the application to talk to my existing back end (Google Firebase) I had to use the same package name, and for the sake of consistency I used the same Company Name and Product name as in the previous version, all updated in Project Settings. The previous version was never published.
My project compiles fine into an APK, and will run on an external android device, but when I use Android device monitor, any logged messages have the "application" column read just a single question mark instead of what used to be the package name. I am getting a fatal error that crashes the app. After researching the specific error message, I think it is a red herring, which is why I am not including it here. My gut is telling me that Firebase is rejecting the connection because the application is not reporting the package name properly, as illustrated by the application column in Android Device Monitor, and it thinks this is a counterfeit app.
Has anyone else ever seen this issue? Are there other places in unity where the package name would need to be updated besides project settings? Is the package name actually what is supposed to be printed in the application column of ADM?
Thank you in advance for your time.
