Why can my character controlled player can stand on the side of a block?
Hi all,
I am new to Unity. I have used a Character Controller to move my player around and have just finished adding a jump. Whilst testing this, I noticed two strange things happening.
1) My player can stand on the edge of a block (or any other object I have tested so far). I have got a picture that shows it. Problem.
2) When jumping over a block, the player seems to shoot straight down and then carry on with the same momentum forward. This one is hard to describe, but from testing, I am sure it has to do with problem 1.
I do have a sphere collider attached to the player but this is set to being a trigger. If there is any more details you would like, please do not hesitate to ask.
Update: So it seems I have overlooked the fact that the block was on the ground layer too. Reverting it back to default removed the problem but introduced another. I now slide on top of everything that isn't on the ground layer...
