After converting the image type from png to jpg, the build size increased.
I use about 20 background images as png format in my game. However, I noticed that jpg forms of the same images have much smaller size and I converted all images to jpg format. I thought the apk size would decrease, but on the contrary, my apk size increased from 68 mb to 85 mb. Why would this happen? I guess Unity compresses .png images better from .jpgs during build. So is it better to use png as picture format in games instead of jpg? Here is the editor logs for with png images:
