License : Android build not supported & invalid machine identification

Hi everyone, here is something I have been struggling with, and it seems that I am not the only one.

Here is the config I am using :

  • Windows 10 Pro: my computer was initially on Windows 10 Family and I switched to it (it seems to be the origin of the problem

  • Unity 2019.4.1f1 / Unity 2019.3.15f1 / Unity 2019.3.14f1 (the same problems occured with the three versions)

Sometimes, when I launch Unity Hub, I can't activate my personal license. I tried both "Activate New License" and "Manual Activation". Activate New License > Personnal > I don't use Unity in a professional capacity Manual Activation > Save License Request > (download the license online) > Next > Confirm No matter which method I use, sometimes, it goes fine, sometimes I have this infamous "Machine Identification Is Invalid For Current License".

I am aware that many people encountered the same project : https://support.unity3d.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039435032-I-receive-a-Machine-Identification-Is-Invalid-For-Current-License-when-attempting-to-activate-my-license-

https://support.unity3d.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039435032/comments/360006918972 I have tried this workaround and I usually can activate my license. I can usually launch my project. However, if I want to switch project or start another project, the project seems to load (the logo appears) and then it abruptly stops and I get the error in the hub : "Unity is already in list. You cannot locate the same version." If I close my current project, then I can't restart any project without uninstalling Unity Hub and restarting my computer.

As I said, I tried many recommended workarounds: uninstall both Unity and Unity Hub, change Unity's version, delete "Unity_lic.ulf"... It usually works find but only once, then I have to do it all again.

Since I use my project regularly and I don't want to reinstall Unity every single day, I tried to figure out what was the fastest workaround for me, which is currently : 1. Close Unity Hub and Unity 2. Delete properly Unity Hub using IOBit Uninstaller. 3. Restart Computer 4. Re-Install Unity Hub. 5. Launch Unity Hub and tick all Windows firewall's authorization. 6. Click on "Activate New License" in the Hub 7. Start my project With this method, I can launch my project in 9 cases out of 10, but it is usually only once. Sometimes, I can launch my project twice and when I can, I usually don't have any more troubles as long as my computer is on. But that's very rare. Sometimes, only restarting my computer do the trick.

This brings me to another problem related to the license: sometimes I can't build for Android. After restarting my computer, I usually can build once for Android, but then, I have this message "Your license does not cover Android Publishing" in the build settings of my project, and I can't build for Android anymore. Sometimes, I start to build and run and it seems to work fine and then, it abruptly stop and the message "Your license does not cover Android Publishing" replace all the settings for Android build. Sometimes, I can't even build once and I have to uninstall/install Unity hub and restart my computer several times before it works.

As I explain, I have a working workaround but since I am using several Unity projects regularly, this is really annoying having to restart my computer and/or uninstall Unity Hub.

Hope a solution can be found or at least my explanation can help some people better understand this recurring problem.
