Cannot debug in Android using Unity Remote 5
Hello,
I wanted to start a mobile game project on Unity, but I am unable to get the application to appear on my Android (Samsung J7.6 2016) when I press play in Unity through USB using Unity Remote 5 (I am on Widows 10 btw). I made sure that:
Settings in Unity are correct:
In "Build Settings" I have chosen "Android" (I can see my device listed in the "Run Device" drop down on the right, so I am sure the program sees my phone;
In Edit > Project Settings > Editor - I chose "Device" as "Any Android Device".
Android:
I enabled "Developer Options";
Enabled "USB Debugging";
Made sure I Revoked USB debugging and then reconnected the device and granted permission to my computer;
In "USB Configuration" I tried both MTP and PTP (I guess MTP is the correct choice, but I did see some mentions on getting PTP to fix the issues).
Drivers:
In "Device Manager" my phone is registered properly under "Portable Devices" and if I try to update the drivers it states "The best drivers for your device are already installed" and I have "MTP USB Device", so I guess the drivers are fine as well.
Connection:
Under "platform-tools" in the cmd I tried using the
adb kill-server
andadb start-server
;If I use
adb devices
I can see my phone connected properly as a device;I tired using the Wi-Fi debugging and I set it up properly using the manuals that I found, the program saw my phone connected, but I could not get it to open anything when pressing play in Unity.
An important thing to note, that I can use both the emulators and also my phone connected through the USB using Android Studio, so there shouldn't be any tech issues with the phone, USB cable or my computer. Is there anything else I can try?
Thank you :)
