Reset scale of a GameObject
Is there a way to reset the size of a GameObject? So the actual size variable gets set to 1, without affecting the actual size of the GameObject in the scene?
Changing the scale factor of the mesh importer wont work because that will affect other objects using the same mesh.

I don't know any way to do that without effecting any other object that uses the same mesh.
And I don't know what you need it for, but you can use a workaround in some cases. Scale the object to the desired size and make it a child of a new game object. Now create a new prefab from that new parent game object. Rinse. Repeat. Now you have several prefabs that all have the scale of 1,1,1 - yet they have different sizes in the scene. Silly, yes, but you'll be surprised by how many problems this approach solves.

That doesn't make any sense, as mesh data is one of the things that is affected by scale (and often the only thing). If you want the same mesh with a different scale, duplicate the asset.
