unity 5.5.0 says not network and will not download when i choose x64 version

i got the installer from the main site and it gives the no network error when trying to download to install.

i also tried the direct download site, https://unity3d.com/get-unity/download/archive and this also gives the same error when trying to download the x64 version of 5.5.0

and weirdly, the 5.4.4 version was updated in Jan5 2017 while 5.5.0 was last updated on Nov 30 2016..

which is the latest version then??? and fyi the x64 of 5.5.0 is not downloading. i have tried multiple computers, so it's not that.
