Only half my draw calls being static batched
I'm trying to create a scene with lots of trees in it. In total, 500 trees get created in a start function, and after they have all been instantiate them, I combine them in a StaticBatchUtility.combine. I assumed this would eliminate all my draw calls, except for about 30 or so. However, it is batching 2/3 of them, and 1/3 of them are not getting batched. So about 500 to 1000 as not batched to batched. Why is this? even if I disable shadows, it doesn't fix this. What can I do?? I know it's possible to do, cities skylines renders hundreds of trees of hundreds of vertices each pretty easily.
