I resolved my problem myself
3D Game Kit - Ellen dies when she jumps, she dies when game starts, she also keeps on dying after respawning once.
Hello all I've been working around with the Unity 3D game kit and my level/game prototype is almost ready. However, I'm having problems with Ellen's death.
1- She dies as soon as the game starts. She respawns and only then can I start playing. 2- She dies when she jumps. 3- The checkpoints are not working? I don't know. This one is the weirdest. When Ellen dies (properly this time, fighting with enemies, damaging and getting health to zero), she respawns at the checkpoint, dies again and respawns, and goes on doing this, meaning I can not play the game now on, I must quit and start over.
These are kinda ridiculous problems.
Anybody has any solutions? I've already checked the checkpoints have the scripts attached, as well as the OnTriggerEnter function was added, well I added it after testing once, after watching this video, thinking maybe this will work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-xGmlSjSQc
It's a good tutorial but there's nothing out there that can explain why there are two kinds of checkpoints in the kit - one with a box collider and one with a sphere collider, and why is the 1st checkpoint, the one on which the player starts the level, has the box collider, and the rest are with sphere colliders.
There's one more thing. When I have already added checkpoints, why does the debug log still tell me I don't?? "There is no Checkpoint set, there should always be a checkpoint set. Did you add a checkpoint at the spawn?" I mean, there it is, you know, right there where Ellen is standing, and right there by the acid pool, and there in the corner. Three checkpoints and you can't even find one?? Why the heck not?
I'm tired of this error. Everything else is working fine, this is the only thing standing in my way of releasing my prototype to my testers. Help!! Thanks in advance!!
