How to sell an indie game as an individual?

I know of greenlight/steam, xbox arcade can sell your game for you, but what are the options in selling it yourself? Do you need a buisness license? Can you just do transactions over paypal? Put copies on eBay? or What?

I am hoping for, someone who knows these things for a fact, not just speculation or guesstimation. Someone with experience in this, I would appreciate it.

Just watch any one of the Unite videos, there's more than enough information in those to get you started all the way to getting published. Just go through each year, check out the video titles, some will definitely stand out.

If you really want to publish your own projects, you have to be a self-motivated go getter. There is literally a virtual tonne of information out there that covers this. A search engine is your friend. Just one basic example : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pF_6u9Za8sA

Edit : No Worries, I hope you took my comment in a positive way.

While steam, xba and a few other platforms are obviously the best choices of selling your products.

I'm not sure if you need a business license to sell your game independently but that may depend on where you are located in the world. I don't believe Minecraft had a business license when it first went up for paypal!

Anywho here is a pretty good list of marketing / selling indie game talks and articles. Selling Indie Games

These links are all about promotion. I don't see any that get down to business about the actual selling of games. Thanks though.

You can A) Make a website which allows you to sell you're game as a download. or B) Find a website that will support Unity files, do some editing, and you can sell it there. You don't know a business license I believe, unless its something like disc based, where you send people the discs or sell them in stores.
