Why did inspector fields get cleared with new Unity Hub version

Hello,

I updated to the latest unity hub version, and discovered that the inspector property fields of scripts on all prefabs were cleared. What could be the reason for this? I how do i prevent it in the future. Note that i didn't move the project to a different editor version. It was just the Hub that i allowed to update.
