Transform.gameObject References Itself?!
I have a transform (biped Hips) whose .gameObject reference points to itself! I have not seem this happen before and it makes absolutely no sense according to docs. It does however really kill my workflow. How is this happening?
Here's the hierarchy:
"Character" (empty GameObject w/ scripts attached)
+ "CharModel" (this is the FBX import, a GameObject)
++ (the mesh of the fbx import)
++ "Hips" (root of the FBX skeleton, a Transform that thinks it's a GameObject??)
+++ ...rest of skeleton
In case not clear, "Hips".gameObject returns "Hips"

Are you trying to retrieve the parent? If so, use Hips.transform.parent
Nope. The GO that's several levels up the tree. There are other ways to get at it, but is it not a bug to have Transform.gameObject reference itself?
