"Couldn't connect to host" from Windows 7 but OK on OSX...?
I am using the WWW class to call a PHP script and everything works OK on my Mac Air OS X 10.7.5. But, when I build it for Windows 64-bit, I get a "couldn't connect to host" error message. The Windows machine is running Windows 7 SP1 and is connecting to the internet ok (I'm using it to write this) but, when running the Unity app, it seems to have problems connecting. Has anyone encountered a similar platform dependent connection problem?
Have you tried simple things already like turning off firewall, antivirus and stuff like that ?
Is the host of the php script local to your windows machine or is the host your mac?
Thanks for the thoughts, folks. $$anonymous$$y responses:
Re: firewall - I'm trying to track that down. I am unable to reach the IT folks here at uni, where it's a mid-term break. I see that it is on and blocks programs not on the list of allowed programs, which the Unity plugin may be one. $$anonymous$$y $$anonymous$$ac is doing ok but it's on the uni wifi, so it may be different.
The code is pretty straightforward - just a call to "yield www" (but I can provide it when I get to the other machine).
The PHP script is on another machine over the internet hosted on an off-site server.
