Model import problem!
I downloaded some models from tf3dm.com and when I imported them, half of them didn't even work. I tried dragging them into the scene and they wouldn't work, I think they were 3ds files or something like that. In the Project View, instead of showing the model, it showed an icon of a white page. Some of these models are some that I really need! How do I fix this?
If you are going to work with 3D models more difficult than a cube, the sphere, etc., the 3D editor is best of all to deliver you. For example, 3d $$anonymous$$ax or Blender. Open model in the editor, check it, its materials, etc., then to import to fbx. After fbx add in Unity. So there will be a confidence of full value of your model and there will be no that somewhere something wasn't finished or doesn't work.

Unity3d accepts this types of files:
http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/3D-formats.html
If you have problems with .3ds .dae .dxf .fbx or .obj , I recommend use FBX converter from autodesk. Is a free tool and you can get here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?siteID=123112&id=20481519
I don't know what to do with .c4d
Un saludo!
