Can I edit official games on Unity?
OK, So I want to edit a official game like for example, if i put in an xbox 360 disc in my computer like Child of Eden or some other game could i put the files in unity and re edit environments and charcters? if so how? (btw i have the free version of Unity).
I've also heard that you can edit a file from a game and add new stuff but I want to know if you can do this on Unity.
actually an interresting question. But why would you plan to edit a game in Unity, if you can not even edit a game by changing the content of a text-file? :)

Unity is a tool for authoring new games. You can't even edit games that were made in Unity with the editor once they're built, let alone games that use completely different engines.
Unity is not a decompiler or resource mining tool.
@Tasarran, how is that even relevant to the question if that is your first ever post to the question?
Tasarrans remark is funny. I mean if Deadmau5freak had the pro version and that mythical, invisible add-on from the asset store for 4'444 bucks... Then he could edit any xbox 360 game, even without putting them in a disc drive..
'm saying if some features are different in the pro version so if you told me there was a way but only for pro i wouldve only had the free so i was expecting an answer for the free version.
@rabbitfang $$anonymous$$y comment was aimed toward the irony that Deadmau5freak not only wants to use Unity to basically s$$anonymous$$l other, full on games, he wants to do it for free...

Just in case people are putting too fine a point on it, the answer to the question is NO.
If you want to steal someone else's work, you have to do it the hard way, start from scratch.
i dident ask the question deadmau5freak did and for all you know i could of made Child of Eden
If you made Child of Eden, I doubt you'd be posting here.
And you also wouldn't need to reverse-engineer anything, because you'd have all the source files.
I'm not s$$anonymous$$ling work, i want to make a fan-game by editing the backrounds and character features like outfits, and i never said i made Child of Eden, Child of Eden is advanced and amazing I can't make anything like Child of Eden I was giving an example of an official game so you didnt get confused.
@Deadmau5freak Good for you for getting interested in game modding; everyone has to start somewhere, and I know it can be difficult even knowing what questions to ask in the beginning, so I really don't understand some of the unfriendly responses you're getting.
A good place to start doing what you want would be something like Fallout 3, and the free modding kit for it called 'GEC$$anonymous$$'. Even if this isn't a favourite game, I think it would give you a good grasp of what's involved in customising commercial games. I'm sure googling you'll find plenty of the other games that are moddable in this way. Unity isn't really useful to you in this case though.
