Modular/Animated Texture (diagram inside)
This is a diagram I made of what I'm trying to achieve using unity scripts on material.
A 3D Plane/Box with modular/animated textures on it. I would have all the design on a single texture image and divide it into unity Rects that can be moved around on the rendered Plane.
I've watched a couple of tutorials and done a bit of research but can't quite get this.
I know i can scroll the entire texture image using something like material.mainTextureOffset updated over time like in this video:

And I also know its possible to make modular textures by layering different images in the 2D mode in unity by making new Textures completely through script as shown in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwqEPo9_oZM&list=PL5KbKbJ6Gf9-1VAsllNBn175nF4fqnBCF∈dex=4
I should probably be able to get the desired effect using the info in these two tutorials. But I don't know if this is the best way to do this or how exactly to do it. For me, this is all experimentation.
I'm probably already working on a completely unnecessary way of doing this manually through material script but I'm pretty new to unity and I feel that there's probably easier way of doing this through unity's tools. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. I'm wondering if i could use something like atlasing or some of the UI building tools? or is there some UV manipulating tool? or maybe there's already functions somewhere in the docs i could look at? specifically I want this to work on a 3D plane/box that exists in 3D game space.
