Question by Pixelkiwi · Jun 25, 2012 at 05:21 PM · resolutionshadowsquality

Horrible shadow quality

I've looked through many similar questions but they all seem to have the same "answer" telling me to check out the shadow settings unity page. I had a look and all it does is tell you how to create slightly less hideous shadows.

I read this page regarding Shadow Size Computation and was wondering if there is a way to set your own shadow map size (Like 4096 for spot lights).

I'd really like to stick with Unity, but trying to create an atmospheric environment with such blocky shadows is impossible.

This Screenshot was taken at full quality on a computer with a 2GB graphics card.

I don't have pro so I'm not an expert on shadows, but isn't there a soft shadow option ?

The problem is point light shadows need fully 6X the amount of texture space, since they need to be projected as a cubemap.
