Attaching Armour 2D sprites
So, I have a 2D RPG game i'm making, and I have tons (thousands) of armours, from boots to helmets gloves, ect.., I have them ordered in a certain way in a file. I'd like to know how to 1) overlay these sprites on top of characters, 2) how to computationally change a sprite in a motion, so I can systematically overlay armour when necessary. I've done a lot of research, and have not found any satisfactory answer.
In other words what files are the sprites of a motion saved in? maybe I can manually change it by opening and writing to files?
