scale squash rendertexture to different size
Is it possible to take a rendertexture that is iphone screensize 960x640 and then squash scale it into a texture that is 512x512?

Use Graphics.Blit (http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/ScriptReference/Graphics.Blit.html).
