Saving changes to the asset files for Prefab and Scriptable objects.
Whenever I make a change to a Prefab or a ScriptableObject asset, the changes work in the editor. However the change only seems to exist in the editor memory, and the file itself is not changed right away. The only way I know to trigger the file save is to close the editor. Is there some way to actively trigger the change?
The reason I would like this is to facilitate making commits with source control. I like committing often and having to close the editor is just a bit inconvenient.
Have you tried Files > Save Project? Or alternatively, ctrl+s?

@NoBrainer-David "Have you tried Files > Save Project? Or alternatively, ctrl+s?"
I had not! Files > Save project seems to do exactly what I need. This is what unity silently does when you close it. With many years of using unity I somehow missed this.
Ctrl+S only saves the current scene. It would be nice to have a shortcut for saving the project.
