2D endless runner: have the player move in the world instead of moving the world around him
Hello,
I wish to create an endless runner with a flying character. The character needs not to always be in the center of the screen horizontally, it needs to be able to accelerate and decelerate in a natural way, get up high in the skies without any limits, then fall to the earth almost vertically (ideally, the objects, like bonuses, that were there when he went up should still be visible when he goes down, but that's not of utmost importance), etc. I'd like to use real physics on the player. All tutorials I found put the player in the center of the screen and just have the objects move around the player. I may be wrong, but I don't think I can achieve what I want with this technique. Is there a tutorial out there showing how to have the player move in the world, and the world being generated horizontally and vertically as needed?
I think the solution would have to do with "triggers" (which I don't know how to use yet). But I would need some template to get me started.
Thanks.
