Toggle Gear VR mode on or off during gameplay?
I've just started out working with the Gear VR for Unity. I have a previous project with a touch navigation, you look down at the scene from a bird's eye perspective and orbit the camera around the scene with touch. Now, is it possible to, in the game, press a GUI button switch over to Gear VR mode and move the player in side the scene?
Imagine a car that you can rotate around from the outside with touch and then you can jump inside the car and look at the interior through the Gear VR. Does it support this?
so far looks like cannot do that, gearvr app apparently needs to be fully vr, https://forums.oculus.com/developer/discussion/26935/gearvr-app-within-android-app

Hi, I'm playing with similar issues - The problem with GEAR is that the application starts in headset so it will be more complicated - I would suggest deploying to cardboard / daydream more seamlessly. I think it can be done with gear but it might be more complicated / starting from scratch and passing a variable as to where you were in touch screen Hope this helps

Thanks for your input, too bad there isn't a more straight forward way of doing this. Perhaps it will changed, I'll will try your workaround in the meantime.

I am curious if someone has done this by now and maybe wants to share the worflow? A GearVR toggle would come very handy!
Please share, if you have any experiences with it!
