How to create a proper 2d-wave?
Hello everyone,
about a month ago i've created a simple simulation of the doppler-effect for my physics class in school. The simulation itself works just fine, however there is one tiny problem that i've been not able to solve by myself yet: A wave is basicly just a sprite i've made real quick in Pixel Studio. To increase the radius of a wave over time (make it expand) i simply increase its size over time. The problem here is, that while the radius of the wave increases, so does the width of the edges of the wave, which 1. does not look good and 2. does not make sense, at least for the purpose of visualising the doppler-effect. Here is a picture to visualize my problem.
I've already thought about creating a grid of pixels and making the grid draw and expand the waves with some weird function but lets be honest that idea is kinda weird and difficult to implement.
Do you have an ideas on how to fix this? I would be really grateful.
Thanks and have a great day,
Afixl
