Does entering Restricted Mode in Visual Studio affect Unity? - Functions disappeared from button when adding scripts to linked objects?
I have only been coding in C# for a few days & working in unity for even less time. I don't really have any programming experience so I apologize if I'm not able to articulate using the correct terminologies. When I was working on a project, I ran into an issue where I couldn't select ANY functions for a button after linking an object. The object had a script on it; and when I removed the script I was able to select some functions.
I noticed that Visual Studio Code had entered restricted mode, and after playing around with the settings I was finally able to see functions when linking my object to my button. I still don't know with confidence what caused the issue and was hoping someone with a little more experience might be able to provide more context.
I'm assuming since the script I wrote was saved in restricted mode (by accident), this caused Unity to prevent me from calling functions when I associated the button to the object with the script. I'm guessing this is to prevent any malicious program from running on someone's computer. Would anyone happen to know if my assumption is correct? Or could it have been something else? ,I apologize in advanced if I'm not able to articulate my question using the proper terminologies. I have only been coding in C# for about 5 days now and am have only been using unity for 2 days. I was attempting to create a button on a project I was working on, but when I linked the object to the button & the object had a script on it I was not able to select ANY functions.
When I removed the script, I could select functions. After some playing around, I was able to get it to work but I still am not sure what caused the issue & was hoping someone with more experience might be able to answer my question.
I suspect that it was because Visual Studio Code somehow entered restricted mode? I assume this is to prevent any malicious program from running; so by adding a script to my object it was preventing me from selecting a function. Could this have been the cause of my problem?
