Unity Trees: Billboard leaves on mobile
I just want to make sure this is a lost cause before I go looking in to an alternative solution.. the option for billboards on leaf nodes in the Tree Creator doesn't work for mobile, does it?
I've had no success getting it to work with any of the shaders, and it doesn't even want to work with no shaders on at all (just grey). If this is the case, could someone explain the reasoning behind it?
The terrain and tree assets aren't really optimized for use on mobile devices. I think that in almost all scenarios you'd want to find an alternative solution. You'll probably want to write your own shader in case you get pink leaves since the original shader uses instructions not supported on many devices.
