I think that for almost 2 months I am not receiving email notifications from answer. I can't say how difficult help others become.
If I enable "Notify me instantly when:" -> "A comment is posted" or "An answer is posted". I started to be notified for each commend and answer globally (even for questions that I didn't subscribe).
That is my current configuration:

Without checking my profiles recent activity or changes to my answer list, I have no idea if people are commenting/answering on anything I am subscribed to (that includes questions I click subscribe me on, no notifications). Same settings as in the question. And the profile page takes a long time to load.
A very long time, indeed. Which wasn't the case until somewhat recently.
The site was down for many hours a month to six weeks ago. After that many things were broken or devolved. Some have been fixed. For example, having rejected messages stuck in the moderation queue happened just after the site went down for maintenance.
Currently I notice the following:
As mentioned, the profile page takes a long time (seems to depend on the number of answers a user has).
When typing in an answer, there is a delay before the formatted text appears.
If I start typing in an answer, and then change my $$anonymous$$d and delete the answer, the formatted text does not disappear.
If I promote a comment to a question or a question to a comment, I need to wait 5 or 10 seconds and then refresh the page. If I do nothing, or refresh faster, the comment will randomly either 1) not move, 2) appear under the question even if I put it somewhere else, or 3) disappear completely.
Send message in the moderation queue does not work (maybe it never worked and I was fooled into thinking it did).
There have always been times when I would click on 'comment', 'publish', 'delete' or 'close' and the click would not take. But these ignored clicks seem to happen more frequently.
While not a bug, there now seems to be a limit of 100 on the number of questions you can request. Before I might enter 200 or 250 to review in a single page the questions from the last 24 hours (or sometimes to find a question when all I remembered was a title word).
I've had one situation where I attempted to promote a comment to an answer only to have the the comment disappear. And no, I did not click on the 'delete' link by mistake. Since I don't do this very often, I don't know if there is a serious issue here or a one-time cosmic event.
If I publish an answer and then click on the title too quickly to go to the question, it will appear to still be waiting in the moderation queue (no answer field and it will still say "The question is waiting approval by a moderator"). I have to wait a five seconds or so.
In general, the site feels slower and rougher around the edges since whatever maintenance or update was done.
Thank God! I unsubscribed from email notifications ages ago. At least my email inbox does not get flooded with emails. :-P
Last time I checked my email it was well-past flood stage with stuff from this site, but, hell, that might have been a couple days ago or a few months ago; I can't keep track of which emails I check or when, I have so many of them :\
And yeah, that was my comment you deleted @robertbu, you a-hole lol xD
I've converted a few completely irrelevant comments I've come across into answers so that I could delete them, and then when they're deleted it still counts it as an answer and doesn't update how many answers are on the topic. Same thing happens sometimes converting non-answer-answers to comments; keeps it on the count.
