Mobile touch input based on sides of the screen
Hey guys, I am an indie developer aspiring to create my first unity mobile game. I am trying to create a simple minimal game of moving a ball vertically upside till it reaches its goal. The basic mechanic of the game is when someone touches on the left the ball jumps left and when someone touches right it goes right but here is the tricky part if someone touches extreme right the ball will jump extreme to right and if someone touches in the middle the ball will jump straight up. the jump direction, as well as the intensity, is based on the screen x-axis as shown in the image below. I am aware of the simple left-right jump but I need help with this type of mechanism but I am not getting any help on any online tutorial related to this. Can anyone please help me to bring my first unity project to live. Just guide me with this basic mechanic and rest I can take care of.
