Why can't I use the latest version of Unity for Oculus VR?
This is causing a huge conflict because I'm being told to upgrade to the latest version of Unity but when I do that conflicts with any Oculus VR stuff I'm doing. The VR stuff literally stopped working entirely when I upgraded to the newest Unity build. And when I then tried to update any VR package/utility stuff to see if that would help it overwrote the scripts I'd already edited in the VR packages and the like specific to what I wanted to happen in my game.
So how am I supposed to do this correctly?
Do I stick with older outdated versions of Unity in order to maintain compatibility with the Oculus VR stuff?
If that's the case, surely there's a bit problem there when I'm using a mix of older and newer stuff with basically no rhyme or reason to which one is the best at any given time.
And what happens if when I go to release my game it says something like "you have a way too old version of whatever software/package required to put this game on our device" yet I've built/coded everything in my game on an older build to avoid it breaking with the newer builds?
