How do I make realistic grass? (Accurately, Colored, Sways, etc.)
Hello everyone! I first want to apologize if this is a waste of anyone's time as I am fairly new to Unity. I was wondering how I could make some realistic looking grass on my terrain. When I use the built in grass feature under the terrain options, the grass looks great in the preview panel. It is extremely realistic and wonderful looking, however when I place it, it's a ugly green and brown mixture that looks nothing like the preview. Another problem is that it appears to move around with me which creates an awkward effect. How would I manage fixing all of these problems. I would like it to look like the preview, and not move with me. Thank you ;)

Unity grass is odd in that it "spins to face." Otherwise known as a vertical billboard. I think GTA2 or 3 used this for trees. A tree might have an apple on the right side, not matter how you walked around it. Unity grass also "flips" if you arc over it, looking down (so don't do that.)
But, think of it as art. Just like a picture, technique, details and practice are what make it look good or bad.

Read the Documentation ....
Healthy Color : Color of healthy grass, prominent in the center of Noise Spread clusters.
Dry Color : Color of dry grass, prominent on the outer edges of Noise Spread clusters.
Billboard : If checked, this grass will always rotate to face the main Camera.
Thank you, Google didn't give me this, I really appreciate it man!
Opacity and TargetStrength are easy to overlook. The basic paint gives you this crazy thick swath of grass. Lowering those two sliders lets you make scrubby patches, and fill out the edges. Esp. Opacity, which allows you to gradually build it up.
