How to import fbx with textures?,How to import FBX file with textures?

,I am a beginner to Unity and was trying to import 3d objects to my project. But it was harder than i thought. I started with importing OBJ and MTL but that didn't work out, I saw many tutorials but most of them asked to convert the file to .fbx format and others asked to make a texture map. I found converting to fbx easier so i did. Then i imported the fbx file in my project and this is how it looks.. I am newbie please guide me where I am going wrong..alt text

So from my humble experience: In blender mostly texture my assets with an image, on which I unwrap my asset and position the vertecies on the color I want. Then I export the fbx file into unity und just copy the image i used for unwrapping in the same hichary as my asset. Unity now finds this texture normaly by it's self. If not, try to create a standart material and assign your texture to the unity material and put this material on your asset.

At last, there is the option in blender to pack all external files (with that textures and materials) into the blend file, and i think so it does when you export to fbx. Then every material is directly saved in you asset file..

I hope that Input helped.

From your image: If you just bake your textures in Blender from $$anonymous$$aterials, it's important to change your models in blender that they use now the new textures as colors. Otherwise the models does not associate their verticies with the textures.
