Hi, I have question.
If I planning to make a MMO with 500+ CCU in one huge scene, is here any way to send packets only to players within a small distance? Like: I walk; send this info to server, server will check all players and resend this update of my position just to clients with player's position less than 20 units from my player to reduce network traffic? And another situation, player1 will create brick on 100x 80y, don't send this spawn-info to player2 with coords 10x 14y, but when player2 walks into 80x 60y, then give player2 to know there was created a brick and spawn it?
Very big thanks for answers...
The cleverest $$anonymous$$$$anonymous$$O use a mix of Server based and Peer-toPeer interaction. You can reduce server load significantly this way but it does introduce syncing problems and is open to abuse, for example, Duplicating items suddenly becomes a lot easier and full-on hacking through data injection becomes a walk in the park.
