Need help understanding Event System use.
I'm trying to set up my event system to use a controller, the unity docs haven't helped. I assume I'm just doing it wrong, how do I get work?
Currently I have the "First Selected" set to New Game.
On New Game I have an event type that calls MenuScript.NewGame on Submit which loads a new game.
Submit is currently set up as Joystick Button 0
What have I left out?
Bumping with no additional information isn't really helpful. What happens when you press joystick button 0? Do you have log messages? Do you have code snippets you could share? What have you tried already to solve the problem?

let me know if that looks setup properly, and yes joystick 0 works, the game plays with a controller.
Why are you using the event trigger component ins$$anonymous$$d of the events fired by the button's onpress?
Because that's whats used in the unity tutorial, what is events fired?

You shouldn't, no. You may need to press something on the Dpad to make sure it's highlighted, but then it should just work with the Submit button I can see you have properly set up in the Event System.
