Is it possible to have a colour slide around an object from both sides?
I have a sphere with the waveform of an audio clip as a texture downloaded from an API e.g. https://freesound.org/data/displays/31/31003_95609_wave_L.png , and also a main colour which makes the waveform red if the audio is not looped, and yellow if it is looped. The user can control the portion of the audio that is looped (start point and end point) but I need a way of visualising this. My aim is to have another colour on top of the waveform that can be dragged in from either side, so e.g. the waveform is yellow and the user sets the start position further on, so the first part of the waveform turns red. They also cut off the end of the audio, so a section at the end also turns red, so that everything yellow shows what is currently being played. Hopefully that makes some sort of sense. I don't have much experience with shaders and textures, does anyone know if something like this is possible? To have another colour that can slide from a point in the sphere and sort of wrap around it from both sides? If I could be pointed towards some useful documentation, that would be great. Sorry if this question is confusing and doesn't make much sense.
