4K video playback
Hello!
What is the optimal format and settings to import and playback 4k video in unity? Is x265 planned to be supported soon? 4 1080p videos beside one another has been extremely CPU intensive... Thank you for your help! I truly appreciate it.

Yea, right. Unity believes in focusing development for mobile platforms. I'm amazed you managed to even get anything above 360p working in Unity. The only way I know of is using third party dll's which have their own set of problems (Unable to work in 64-bit editor, etc.). There's no plans to add 1080p support (Without massive cpu usage), let alone 4k. I have some great 1080p intros for my game that I ended up scrapping because they won't run worth crap in Unity. Hope that helps. :-p

Hi!
I had the same Problem and ended up making a VLC plugin for Unity - I can play 100mbit 4k Videos with it, along with a lot more features. Here's a Forum thread where you can check it out: [LINK][1]
Or take a look at the asset store : [LINK][2]
Hope this helps. [1]: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/released-vlc-player-for-unity.387372/ [2]: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/58898
