Camera jitters when tracking objects on moving platform
Hi, me and my friend have been trying to fix this issue for the past week to no avail. We have scoured the internet looking for detailed answers, but nothing really helps us. We have a moving platform that's moved through it's rigidbody's position in FixedUpdate. The platform has a loop that sets any rigidbodies that are on top of it to move at the same rate as the platform. Everything behaves normally until the camera tracks an object moving on top of the platform. The camera becomes jittery when tracking those objects, yet behaves perfectly fine when it's tracking anything else moving off the platform. We're using Cinemachine, but any camera follow script we've tried also recreates this. What's even weirder is when the X and Y damping of the Cinemachine Virtual Camera is set to a value like 0.02, the stuttering stops completely. Raising it up to a value like 0.2, and the stuttering occurs. The camera is also using LateUpdate, so it baffles me how stuttering can even occur. The rigidbodies of all tracked objects are set to Interpolate too, so that wouldn't be the issue. Setting the fixed time step in the project settings to a lower number also fixes this, but it breaks the rest of our game. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
