Changing AssetReference property of component in inspector doesn't trigger OnValidate
I'm trying to make a simple Editor script for handling the way I want to use AddressableAssets.AssetReference properties in the inspector, My component script also inherits from monobehaviour.
1. I'm running into the issue that the dropdown that unity gives by default when you try to change the AssetReference property doesn't seem to trigger OnValidate when the new value is selected.
2. Every other property works (Even AssetLabelReference) but for some reason AssetReference doesn't. This doesn't seem to be the intended behaviour, and I don't want to have to go into custom editor scripts just for this as I haven't used them before.
3. This is a separate issue I'm still looking into, I can't figure out exactly how to get the component's OnValidate to trigger a function in an editor script I've written.
Is there something simple I'm missing here? Any help with either of these issues is appreciated.
