Lesser Materials : how much better performance ?
Hi there, I´ve got a city where one house for example has 12 different materials. (When I created this asset I didn´t know about lesser materials would increase performance) Now I think about reworking this model, having 2 materials instead of 12.
Do anyone has an idea if this is worth it regarding performance? The house will be rendered like 3 to 6 times per frame.
Thanks in advance?

Rendering will be faster when there are more objects sharing the same material. There can be a big difference in performance when using one material with UV mapping as opposed to having several meshes each with a different material due to the overhead of loading in separate material assets.
