Modo Texture import Problem
Using Modo 501 (which should be 100% compatible) Unity seems to have a problem importing materials and textures of any kind. Every time I do it, I get a series of Empty gray materials (while in Modo the model is fully finished).
This also happened from Bryce. I don't really want to have to redo work every time I bring it into Unity - so I'm looking for a way to get these programs (esp Modo) working with Unity properly. Of course if the only way to Use Unity is to redo the materials for every model I import, I'm going to lose interest in using Unity at all.
Would like some advice on fixing the issue if possible.

I suspect that you have this issue:
Modo file import is based on COLLADA. There are some problems with COLLADA import - it doesn't import materials correctly. We want to fix this for Unity 3.5 (although I can't promise it 100%).
You can try manual export to FBX for now. And don't forget to place your textures in Unity project folder.
For the record: As of today it's still not possible (or at least it's a pain and very, very hard, or cumbersome) to import a model with several materials from $$anonymous$$odo 701 to Unity 4! Even with nice baked texture maps and manual import of texture map - because Unity splits the models textures into more base materials - when you only have one texture to apply. It works fine if your model in $$anonymous$$odo only has one type of material, with some manual work, but more..?
