Has anybody made a 'zoomable' skybox?
Hi everyone,
I'm building a VR video app for Oculus Go, GearVR and cardboard with 3D 360 video from a Vuze camera (4k equirectangular above and below 3D). I'm applying the video to a skybox material using the video player and I'm running into the usual problem of fixed FOV with Unity's cameras in most VR SDKs. This means that the scenes in the video look too big: objects look huge and interiors are like being in a cathedral (this also shows up the poor resolution of the videos).
I'm pretty sure there's no way to change the FOV of the camera for most VR setups, it just gets reset at runtime. However, several VR video players on the oculus store (Deo VR for example) have a zoom setting which does exactly what I'm trying to do: zooming out makes the scenes look smaller and further away from the camera.
Has anyone come across a 'zoomable' skybox shader? Or does anyone know another way around this?
Thanks!
