Unity freezes after editing code (Visual Studio)

If I edit a C# script in Visual Studio, save it and then go back to Unity it freezes for 5-8 seconds and becomes completely unresponsive. It's very annoying in the long run.

I'm using unity 2018.1.6f1 64 bit and Visual Studio 15.7.5
